How does it work?
Our group surf clinics are designed for people that want a little more one-on-one time than our large free lessons program allows. The group lesson. Registration is required to guarantee the spot and to make sure that we will have enough students to hold the classes. We need a minimum of 5 students for a session to be held.
Here’s how it works: Register online and pay online or pay at the store. Head over to the shop (1985 NE 2nd St., Deerfield Beach) at the specified session time on Saturday and bring your own shorts, sun block, and a towel. You'll completed waiver (only needed once) and receive a wrist band. You’ll grab a long board and walk to the Deerfield Beach Pier alongside the instructors. At the beach – IWS staffers like 20-year vet Kali “Da Big Kahuna” Montero and surfboard shaper Mike Pechonis – who’ll then run down the basics like safety, paddling, and that vicious pop-up. After that, the instructors will take you into the water and the fun begins.

What day/time does it start?
The session starts promptly at 9:30am. If it is your first time, please arrive a little early to fill out a waiver.
Where do we meet?
The lessons begin at the store. After a short instruction, we will go as a group down to the beach. It is important to meet at the store in order to be assigned a board.

What should I bring with me?
If you have a rash guard (surfing T-shirt), it is advised to bring/wear it. Also, a towel, and sun screen.
What is the cost for the group lessons?
The group surf lesson pricing is: $25 per student
What is the deal with these waivers?
We require a completed waiver for every participant. If the student is a minor, a parent or legal guardian will need to complete the waiver. We only need the waiver completed one time. After that, only a wrist-band is needed. If possible, please download and complete the following form and bring it in with you. Otherwise, we will have them available at the store to complete.
First Time Visitors -
Please arrive a little early to complete a waiver before lessons or download the PDF above and bring it into the store.
Everyone-
When you arrive, please stop inside the store to get your writband with emergency contact info. Anyone going in the water will need a wristband for the lessons.
Are lessons every cancelled?
The group lessons require a minimum of 5 pre-registered students to hold the session. If we do not receive enough pre-registered students, the class will be cancelled. Questions? Call: 954-427-4929
How many students are in the paid, group lessons?
There will be a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 35.
Do I need my own board or do you have boards?
We have boards available at not additional charge. There will be a maximum of 2 students per surfboard.
What are the parking options?
Option 1: Free Parking - There is limited free parking available at the store (arrive early).
Option 2: There are metered spots by the beach (cash only).
Option 3: We have a large parking garage directly accross the street from the store. Cost is normally $3 per hour or $9 for the day. Use the coupon below for a special rate. (cash or credit)
Warning: Do NOT park in the 7-11 or any other parking spot not mentioned above or your car may be towed.
